OUR CLIENTS SAY ....Sandy Lockesandy
Dressage Competitor & Student at WEC - Owner of Rocky & Veracruz with her niece Taylor on a SSEA horse
I have recently moved to WEC. It is by far the nicest most professional barn I have ever boarded at. The care and the facility are very well done and maintained. Marta's eye and teaching style is extremely sharp, calming, FOCUSED and enjoyable. Her demeanor is so welcomed by both horse & rider. She has an intuitiveness with any breed of horse. They all love her. I am so thankful that I have found this facility to board and train my horses. It is A-1! I look forward to many years here.

Vincent Flores
Dressage Competitor & Student at WEC - Owner of Aliado
"I recently moved to Houston, and was looking for a dressage barn and a aliadocompetent trainer, in order to keep competing in this discipline in the US.  I have been naturally advised to pay a visit to Marta at WEC! She introduced me to the P.R.E horses, and I have been quite amazed by the natural talent of these horses for dressage, and also the great cooperation they put into the work. After a couple of weeks riding one of her stallions, Aliado, which was for sale, the decision of buying him has not been the most difficult I had to take in my life! He is an absolute pleasure to ride, and is a very well behaved stallion.

Marta has excellent coaching skills, and I really enjoy taking lessons with her. Aliado and I will sta
y at WEC and are looking forward to training and competing here!"

"It is a true honor to be a  WEC's student under the instruction of Marta Renilla. I have taken lessons since April 2010 and continue to make progress each week. Marta's calm approach makes it easy to concentrate during your lesson. Everyone at the barn shares a passion for true horsemanship. Woodlands Equestrian Club is my home away from home. I have made life long friends riding here, every day at the WEC is a gift. Looking forward to this years show season with my Chulo!

Rayo Valerie Plentick
Former SSEA student and owner of WEC's Rayo
"I took lessons at the Spanish School of Equestrian Arts for 5 months with Marta Renilla.
The Spanish horses are a pure pleasure to ride and Marta is a sweet and very talented instructor. I enjoyed every ride with her, a very peacefull experience! I fell in with the Spanish breed and bought Rayo , an Andalusian gelding trained by her. Now I enjoy Rayo every day , he is the sun of my life and I can't wait to go back for some training and some riding with Marta."

Lessons with Marta are always so enjoyable. She has such a calm and encouraging approach, and always finds examples to explain movements and techniques in new and innovative ways. Although WEC is a business, the passion and love that Marta has for horses and teaching rubs off on us all in a way which makes WEC feel like one big family. You couldn’t find anywhere more special to ride."

Marta is a very talented rider and instructor. I Love my lessons as every time you get that special moment when something works very well. They say it's not until you can ride that you want to know how to ride! That's where I am now!

Karen Genneken
New owner of Tico, a former member of the Spanish School of Equestrian Arts. (Spring 2011)
The search for the perfect dressage horse (or one of any discipline) can be a long and frustrating process.  After two years and a national search, my quest for finding my equine partner ended when I met Marta Renilla at Woodlands Equestrian Club.   Marta introduced me to the Pure Spanish (P.R.E) or Andalusian breed and the horses she had trained.   From geldings to stallions, all of the horses at WEC have amazing temperments and athletic ability.  Marta's riding is a joy to watch and the caliber of the horses at WEC reflect her training style and expertise.  I ended up choosing Tico, the first stallion I ever sat on and absolutely the most cooperative, willing, hard working horse I ever rode.  Although I am still a beginning level dressage rider, Tico has the sensitivity to work at my level yet he is athletic and determined enough to be a Prix St Georges competitor.  I found the perfect horse to work through the levels over the next few years.  I strongly believe this is a testament to Marta's training, her love of this breed and her understanding of the individual rider's needs.

"Thank you for the wonderful lessons... Marta, you have a gift as an instructor as well as a rider and I look forward to more lessons! Your calm yet assertive manner makes connecting with the horse fun and enjoyable...much like a dance. "

Boarder at WEC - Owner of Barroco

"I trained horses in what you could call “equestrian tricks” including Piaffe, Passage and the Spanish Walk. Still, all my riding was disconnected and lacking of equestrian virtue. It took me to see Marta Renilla ride my horse once, on a fortuitous occasion, to know that I wanted to be taught proper Dressage by her. So, in spite of the fondness that I had for my previous boarding barn I decided to move to the Woodlands Equestrian Club. If a good life is made of a sum of correct decisions, this definitively has to count as one. In just a few months my riding has improved by a few years. Marta has exceptional coaching skills. She is structured, sequential and, most of all, straightforward and clear. Marta and her family are joyful, fun loving and considerate people. WEC is a happy place and the place to be if you want to improve your riding, be that at an advanced level, with Marta as a Dressage coach, or at Jumping, and intermediate or Natural Horsemanship with other available instructors."
